How it works

Three steps. Sixty seconds.

01

Create an endpoint

Choose a method, route, status, and delay. Done in seconds.

02

Send your first request

Hit your hosted URL from anywhere — browser, curl, mobile, CI.

03

Inspect & iterate

Review every request, filter by method or status, and copy any of them as cURL.

Features

Everything you need. Nothing you don't.

A focused toolkit for mocking, inspecting, and shipping. No bloat.

Hosted Mock REST Endpoints

Instant HTTPS endpoints with custom methods and routes. Or import an OpenAPI / Swagger spec to mock your entire API in seconds.

Real JSON editor & Faker templates

Syntax highlighting, schema formatting, and dynamic response templates powered by safe Faker generators.

Real-time HTTP request inspector

Inspect headers, JSON payloads, query parameters, and timings. Filter by status or method, and copy any request as cURL.

Team workspaces & subdomains

Invite teammates with roles. Each workspace serves its mock APIs from its own isolated HTTPS subdomain.

Fake CRUD API & stateful resources

Declare a resource to get instant, persistent REST CRUD endpoints with pagination, filtering, sorting, and seed data. A hosted json-server alternative.

How it works

Model Context Protocol (MCP) server

Connect Claude Desktop, Claude Code, or Cursor. Scaffold endpoints, generate seed schemas, and inspect mocks straight from your AI coding assistant.

How it works

Simulate latency & API errors (fault injection)

Simulate slow network latency, 500/503 server errors, 429 rate limits, and malformed JSON payloads. Test loading spinners, exponential retries, and error boundaries before production finds them.

How it works
Request Inspector

Like browser devtools, for your mock API.

Capture every mock request and response in real time. Inspect headers, payloads, timings, and export as cURL. Debug webhooks and client integrations in seconds.

  • Full HTTP request & response payload capture
  • Copy any incoming request as cURL
  • Filter by HTTP method, status code, or route
  • Tag and isolate requests with injected faults & simulated delays

FAQ

Frequently asked.

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. APIMock is free — there are no paid plans and nothing to upgrade to.

Where are my endpoints hosted?

On APIMock's hosted infrastructure. Each workspace gets its own HTTPS subdomain, so there's nothing to deploy or run yourself.

Can I use my own domain?

Not yet. Each workspace serves its mocks from its own subdomain, e.g. acme.apimock.dev.

Can I manage mocks programmatically?

Yes. Create an API token in Settings, then use the MCP server to create, edit and inspect endpoints from Claude or any MCP client.

What are the limits?

50,000 mock requests a month per workspace (resetting on the 1st, UTC), 7 days of request history, and up to 3 workspaces. Over the request limit, mocks return 429 until the month resets.

How is APIMock different from JSONPlaceholder or json-server?

JSONPlaceholder provides static dummy data that cannot save edits or let you customize routes. json-server gives you CRUD, but only runs locally on your machine. APIMock gives you hosted, shareable HTTPS mock APIs with real persistent CRUD (Resources), dynamic templating, OpenAPI import, and fault injection with zero backend setup.

Can I generate mock APIs from OpenAPI or Swagger specifications?

Yes. You can import any OpenAPI or Swagger spec (v2, v3, or v3.1 in JSON or YAML format) to automatically generate all endpoints and mock schemas in one click, with support for re-import reconciliation.
